THE DROP: TOO BLACK GUYS X MAPLE LEAFS X MITCHELL & NESS - NO APOLOGIES COLLECTION

  • by Infinity Lab

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Streetwear Pioneer Too Black Guys have come together for a special collaboration for the 2024 NHL All-Star weekend that is taking place in Toronto. The collaboration titled "No Apologies" is a celebration of 8 former Black Hockey Players and their contribution to the sport of Hockey.

This launch coming in during NHL All-Star and at the beginning of Black History Month perfect timing. Especially for a sport like hockey which when you think about it should be doing a better job of honouring the Black players that have been on the ice. This is a step in the right direction to celebrate them and hear the stories from these 8 players who have been part of one of the NHL's most legendary franchises. I was really surprised to find out that for a team that has existed for 105 years and had over 1000 players, only 8 were black.

The all black 5 piece collection done in partnership with Mitchell & Ness consists of Jersey, Crewneck, Tee, Hat and Toque. You can buy it online via RealSports or Visit the Pop-Up Shop happening during The Throne Barbershop until February 3rd.

Another great part around this collaboration is 20% of the proceeds from each purchase from the collection will go towards Against All Odds Black Aces, a hockey program dedicated to the training and development of marginalized youth.
